Honoring Grace

December 19th was a sad but profound day for our family and the amazing community that supports us. As a family, we retreated to an amazingly spiritual place in Sedona, Arizona. There amongst the beauty of the Red Rocks we grieved and celebrated our amazing and extraordinary daughter and sister.

At the same time in NY, Grace’s incredible friends gathered for a walk to honor and remember her. On a cold but sunlit day, 40+ friends waked in silence through one of her favorite spots in Rye, The Marshlands Conservancy. They released roses into the Sound and sang Yellow by Coldplay.

In Sedona and Rye, as well in so many other places we all felt that, while her physical presence was absent, Grace’s spirit was very much with us. She is now leading us in spirit and guiding us all to do more and be better people.

“I do not at all understand the mystery of grace – only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.”
